CRM Company: Fast-Growing Technology Company Expands To Topeka
Alorica Inc., one of the leading customer service management firm, plans to open an in-bound customer service call center at South City Plaza, 115 SW 29th Street. The center, expected to open mid-summer, plans to hire 150 agents per month-a total of 600 to 700 positions by the end of the year. Company officials anticipate a long-term potential of 850 to 1,000 full-time positions.
Alorica, headquartered in Chino, California, has 12 locations and more than 7,000 employees worldwide. Since its founding in 1999, Alorica has experienced staggering year-over-year growth fueled by its rapid expansion in the U.S. and global marketplaces.
"Alorica is one of the fastest growing technology companies in the United States," says Doug Kinsinger, President/CEO of the Greater Topeka Chamber of Commerce/GO Topeka. "The fact that Alorica has chosen Topeka speaks volumes about our capable workforce and business-friendly climate."
"Bringing Alorica to Topeka has been a real partnership among the company, local and state officials, the property owner, Heartland Works, and the citizens of Topeka/Shawnee County who have committed economic development sales tax monies to bring jobs and capital investment to our community," Kinsinger said.
"We decided on Topeka because your workforce is known for its excellent service and strong work ethic-values that align well with our commitment to quality," says Andy Lee, Alorica founder and CEO. "Another factor in our decision was the repeal of personal property tax on new investments in business machinery and equipment. To get the operation up and running, Alorica plans to invest millions in equipment and building renovation."
"We would like to thank GO Topeka, your local government officials, and the State of Kansas for their support and assistance," says Lee. "We look forward to becoming an integral part of the Topeka/Shawnee County community."
"Alorica will receive up to $90,000 each year over a 10-year period in incentives from GO Topeka," says Kathy Moellenberndt, Vice President-Director of Economic Development for the Topeka Chamber/GO Topeka. "The local incentives are all performance based upon new job creation and average hourly wages," she continues. "To qualify for GO Topeka incentives, positions must pay at least $9.00 an hour. Alorica also has made application for many of the state incentive programs, such as state income tax credits based upon new jobs creation and capital investment, as well as training grants."
Alorica expanded its existing call center in Manhattan, Kansas about a year ago, hiring over 600 people.

Beginning in early June, Alorica will host a series of job fairs for prospective customer service and technical support agents to begin the initial training class scheduled for July 23, 2007.
