eOn Communications Announces Voice Over IP Product Enhancements For Its Millennium Business Communications System
eOn Communications (NASDAQ: EONC), a leading provider of advanced enterprise business communications and contact center solutions, today announced new enhancements that enable its feature rich proven business communications solution – the Millennium PBX, with integrated VoIP networking capabilities and advanced desktop telephony functions. Millennium IPConnect is a Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) compliant network interface that extends the feature rich capabilities of the Millennium PBX to remote workers and branch offices via IP networking. eOn IP Phone 500 is a multifunction telephone that offers easy access to the Millennium's advanced telephony and messaging features to users located anywhere there is an IP network connection.
These new capabilities enable seamless Internet Protocol (IP) based applications on eOn's award winning Millennium PBX, equipped with feature capability and proven reliability gained from 13 years of continuous product development and more than 10,000 enterprise business customer implementations supporting over 500,000 users worldwide. The Millennium now combines IP, digital and analog technologies into a single converged platform, enabling customers to deploy the communications solution that best addresses their business needs.
In using the Millennium IPConnect and IP Phone 500, voice connections as well as routing requests can travel over less expensive IP networks. Businesses can now set up one virtual enterprise communications environment regardless of where workers are physically located. This dramatically increases employee collaboration and productivity while lowering communications networking and equipment costs.
"With IPConnect and its companion IP Phone 500, Millennium customers can continue to leverage their enterprise business communications system investment while incrementally taking advantage of everything an IP-based network has to offer—at their own pace without any compromise in call processing features and without requiring costly ‘forklift' upgrades that are so commonplace," said Mitch Gilstrap, eOn's Chief Operating Officer.
IP Connectivity and More: Millennium System Release 3.11
Millennium IPConnect and eOn IP Phone 500 are made available by Millennium System Release 3.11. Release 3.11 can be delivered in an all IP configuration, an all circuit switched configuration or a mixture of both. Leveraging the company's and Aelix Systems's expertise, Millennium System Release 3.11 carries forward all of the award-winning features found in previous versions and combines them with new enhancements that simultaneously provide investment protection for circuit-switched applications and a migration path to VoIP.
"Millennium customers will now have the luxury to choose which connection type, VoIP, circuit-switched or any combination, makes most sense based on business needs unencumbered by technology limitations," said Jack Dienno, eOn Vice President of Sales. "These enhancements represent an extension of eOn's longstanding commitment to its customers to provide continuous product development and technology investment protection. This commitment gives eOn customers confidence that they can reduce risk and lower total cost of ownership as new technologies and capabilities are introduced."
Availability
IPConnect, IP Phone 500, and Millennium System Release 3.11 will be available for installation beginning January 2006 and will be sold through both direct and indirect channels.
